Real Men Wear Pink gives men a leadership role in the fight against breast cancer. Community leaders around the nation use the power of pink to raise awareness and money for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer initiatives, including innovative research, patient services, and education around screenings and risk reduction. It’s one important way we’re attacking cancer from every angle.
The American Cancer Society is determined to save lives from breast cancer by promoting early detection and prevention, funding groundbreaking research, and giving patients support wherever and whenever they need it. Because of the passion of supporters like you, Real Men Wear Pink of New Orleans candidates are helping create a world free from the pain and suffering of breast cancer.

For the first time ever, female breast cancer has surpassed lung cancer as the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide in 2020. Despite this, the death rate from breast cancer dropped by 41% from 1989 to 2018 as a result of earlier detection through increased awareness and mammography screening, as well as advances in treatments. And today we celebrate the more than 3.8 million breast cancer survivors in the United States today including those who completed treatment and those still undergoing treatment.
