Diagnostic Imaging Services is proud to be participating in upcoming July and October events held by You Night Empowering Events.
There are over 16 million cancer survivors in the United States. In New Orleans, it is estimated that this year alone – over 24,000 new cases will be diagnosed.
The good news about cancer care is that thanks to advances in the medical community, the number of people who survive cancer is growing. The harsh reality, though, is that mental and emotional care is the overlooked but necessary part of cancer care treatment.
Since 2013, the You Night program addresses the emotional needs of women who have had cancer. We offer a unique alternative to cancer support groups, through goal-oriented, team building activities, resulting in a powerful sisterhood of support.
You Night teaches cancer survivors how to overcome the physical and psychological challenges of cancer treatment through teamwork, coaching and strong interpersonal support from a network of other survivors.
The program prepares women for life after cancer by re-building self esteem, appreciation for their own bodies and a joy for living — all through structured experiences that prepare them to walk a fashion runway. You Night’s structured six-month curricula of coaching and healing culminates in a graduation ceremony that is a celebration of life, a fashion show spotlighting the survivors and attended by their friends, families and importantly, their caregivers.
You Night creates alternatives to traditional support groups by providing year-round empowering experiences for women who desire a sisterhood of support. You Night teaches cancer survivors how to overcome the physical and psychological challenges of cancer treatment through teamwork, coaching, and skills training. Our signature program is our “runway training program”, where, for five months, participants work together to eventually show off their skills and teamwork in front of friends, family members and health care providers.
With your help, You Night will make 2017 the year that programs are rolled out across the country, helping thousands of women cancer survivors. You Night wants you to be part of their mission.
