Throughout the week of August 9-15, 2015, Community Health Centers across Louisiana will celebrate National Health Center Week. The theme for this year’s celebration is “America’s Health Centers: Celebrating Our Legacy, Shaping Our Future.”
This week-long observance allows Louisiana’s Community Health Centers the opportunity to raise awareness about the crucial role they play in our state’s healthcare system and showcase their facilities to the community.
With over 160 sites in all corners of the state, Community Health Centers provide affordable, quality health care for patients living in the most rural and medically under-served areas of Louisiana.
Last year alone, Louisiana’s health centers served over 300,000 patients accounting for over one million patient visits. These facilities offer primary care, behavioral health, and oral health services which, studies have shown, meet the highest standard of patient care. Patients get treated with utmost respect by a team of caring professionals focused on preventing costly illness and disease.
