Capitol Imaging Services
Our Founder & HistoryIn 2014, John Hamide,MD, an interventional radiologist, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and practicing diagnostic imaging on an outpatient basis, acquired his first imaging center, Baton Rouge Imaging. The success of that acquisition was the forerunner to his acquiring four additional imaging centers in the following year of 2015: Ascension Open MRI in Gonzales, Bluebonnet Imaging Center of Baton Rouge, Central Imaging Center of Central, and North Shore MRI in Covington. Simultaneously, he launched Capitol Imaging, LLC which set the stage for future acquisitions under one corporate structure.
Capitol Imaging continued growing with the acquisition of over 16 additional imaging centers across Louisiana and Alabama from late 2015 through late 2020. To capitalize on the rapidly growing imaging corporation, Dr. Hamide entered a partnership with Clearview Capital LP which brought a strong funding capability and organizational structure into Capitol Imaging. As part of this expansion, on January 1 of 2020, the leadership of what would become Capitol Imaging Services (CIS) in October of 2020, was consolidated into one leadership team with John P. Stagg selected as CEO of the corporation. Most of the management team is still here today and bring over 100 years of experience with them to help expand Capitol’s footprint throughout the Gulf South.
Today, Capitol Imaging Services operates over 40 diagnostic imaging centers in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida, with several additional centers planned to join the CIS family in the near future. The CIS family of centers has evolved to operate under a strong corporate structure with a dynamic internal system that utilizes advanced technologies to link all operating sites together in areas of image archiving, billing and revenue cycle management, communication technologies, human resources/employment benefits, and accounting processes.
Dr. Hamide continues to serve both the public and the medical community in the Greater New Orleans area.
