CereScan Corp., the leading diagnostic brain imaging company specializing in the use of functional brain imaging to assist doctors in the detection and diagnosis of complex conditions such as Traumatic Brain Injury, has added Major General Gale S. Pollock (retired) to its Medical Advisory Board. General Pollock will use her extensive experience and military leadership to provide CereScan with acute insight into the unique healthcare challenges facing military personnel and veterans, particularly in the area of brain health.
General Pollock’s impressive record and dedicated service earned her appointments as the Commander of the U.S. Army Medical Command, Acting Surgeon General of the Army (the first woman and non-physician to hold this role in any of the military services) and the 22nd Chief of the Army Nurse Corps.
In 2008, she established the Louis J. Fox Center for Vision Restoration and was an associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh Schools of Medicine and Nursing. General Pollock was a 2011 Fellow in Harvard University’s Advanced Leadership Initiative.
General Pollock serves on multiple advisory boards and is the owner of Pollock Associates, LLC. She is currently a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, the National Association of Corporate Directors and the American Academy of Nursing. She was also honored by the National Association of Professional Women as the 2013/2014 Professional Business Woman of the Year.
“Our ability to tap into General Pollock’s 30+ years of experience working within the military healthcare system and to benefit from her leadership will prove invaluable in CereScan’s pursuit to provide our service men and women with the most advanced, comprehensive and accurate brain diagnostic information worldwide. The company’s mission to significantly improve patient outcomes and to advance brain science through our ongoing clinical studies of veterans is greatly enhanced through General Pollock’s advice and counsel,” said John Kelley, Chairman and CEO of CereScan Corp.
